What was your daily routine on Mahashivratri day? Fasting and worship for all eight phases. There are eight phases—for all eight phases, through the four night phases you stayed fully awake the entire night and fasted from the day. Nothing to eat or drink. At Lord Shankara's place is Vishvanath Ji—Kashi Vishvanath Ji—there the worship for all eight phases took place. Maharaj Ji, in the worship you would remember the naam. Reflection, mantra, mantra jap—yes, mantra jap in a pure state. Like when you're going for purification, then you would do naam jap. This jap goes like "sa saam sada shiv sa"—yes, this is the glory of the night in Mahashivratri.
