"I Will Do Naam Jap When the Right Atmosphere is Created"—Is This Thinking Correct?
A brief teaching from Pujya Maharaj Ji—to hear the full discourse, watch the video above.
The Full Discourse
This mind continuously deceives us. "Let's sit comfortably there and then do this work a little." Then we sit, but we don't do naam jap. Whether or not death gives us the opportunity to sit, life will extinguish—the breath will leave while we're still living. What confidence can a person have in this single breath? Our breaths are precious and their number is fixed—it's not as if you can take as many as you want. As many as are numbered, that many you will be able to take—not more. Each breath is accounted for. What confidence is there in this life? It doesn't stand by anyone.
Don't postpone with the idea that this work will get done, these circumstances will change, you'll reach that place, or that task will be completed. If you are going, then go with awareness. What is awareness? Radha Radha Radha—walk chanting naam with each step. If you are sitting, then sit in naam jap. Don't remain separate from naam jap. Don't sit with those people who speak vile things, worldly things, words of blame and praise.
