Everything Will Be Attained Through Ananyata! // 26/09/26
Satsang of Pujya Shri Hit Premanand Govind Sharan Ji Maharaj — To listen to the full discourse, see the video above.
Full Discourse
We are people who have taken refuge in God. We are those who have taken refuge in Priya Lal. But because we do not know the mystery of surrender, the bhagavatic joy that is ours does not manifest for many years or throughout our entire lifetime. Our bhagavatic joy is because God is ours. That joy is our own possession. It belongs to no one else. What is the reason for this? The loss of ananyata. This defect has been found even in great and good sadhaks. We are lustful. We are wrathful. We are defective. But we belong to Shri Ji. This is certain. We cannot extend our hands before anyone else.
We cannot hope from others. If we hope from others, it is only a show—nothing of genuine seeking. We have entered the path to gain victory over lust, anger, greed, delusion, arrogance, and envy. We may fall while fighting. But we will fall belonging to Shri Ji. Not belonging to others.
This is what Sevak Ji Maharaj has said: look at this form—hands hang loose before the objects of sense. Looking at these objects, hands hang loose—what life, what span of time—why is it being wasted in destruction?
If you want to enjoy the true pleasure of the bhagavat path, we are not saying come without defects. Come with defects.
Becoming free from defects is the work of our Ishta. Becoming free from defects is the work of our Ishta. Defect and ananyata are two different things. We have these defects, but we belong to Shri Ji. So let shame come to them, and let them correct us. But we are not others'.
This is what our guru wrote. When he spoke, sometimes he would step outside and write from his diary.
Imbued with the color of the Ishta, begging the grace of the Ishta. Without the Ishta there is no other. Only for this one is the longing. Let him sing the glory of the Ishta, let him taste the flavor of the Ishta. Let him keep his mind dwelling in the Ishta. The Ishta becomes glory. The Ishta is strength, the strong one. Without the Ishta, where would the mind find dwelling? In the nectar-form Ishta's abode, dwell there unshaken. This Kusumdas says: firm worship.
What is the form of firm worship? He says: imbued with the color of the Ishta, outside and within. Radhavallabh is also there. You can recognize this by seeing. Why? Because we are colored with the Ishta's colors. We are adorned with the complete adornment of the Ishta. [singing can be heard]
In the servitude of the Ishta, within also we should be Radhavallabhi, not many-served. Within also we should be Radhavallabhi. We have defects within.
We do not clear this up by saying we are without defects. But we are firm with Shri Ji. There is no fault here. There is no fault here. The grace of the Ishta is begged, and if grace comes upon us, we do not need the grace of anyone else. We do not need anyone's grace. Our guru and our Ishta are capable. If they wish, they can make us a mahatma, or if they wish, they can leave us as a duraatma. If they do not give their gaze, we are a duraatma already. If they give their gaze, we will become our true self. The grace of the Ishta is begged.
We bow to all other sadhaks, saints, mahatmas, paths, and sampradayas as forms of God. But we need the grace of only our Priya and our guru. We do not need the grace of anyone other than our guru.
बने तो रघुवर ते बने बिगड़े तो भरपूर तुलसी और ते बने ता दूर
If made, then made by Raghuvara; if ruined, then completely. Tulsi—other than this, [anything else] made is far.
Our heart is for Shri Ji. Why did we leave our home? First, let the answer come to us: why did we leave our home? Did we leave after hearing something? What did we leave to attain? Food, money, building, prayers, greetings, honor, fame—no. At that time, the only goal was Shri Bhagavan. Then why this in the middle? Why in the middle? Why this other support?
The grace of the Ishta—we do not need it from anyone in any way.
We do not need even bhagavatic grace.
Worldly grace is worldly, but we do not need even bhagavatic grace. Whatever grace comes, let our guru give it. Let our Priya do what they wish. If they do, fine. If they don't, we are ruined—completely ruined. Take our words as certain—you will not regret it. Your entire life will be wasted. These crores, these billions—when you die, you cannot carry them with you, and this conduct, this nature will seal your ruin. It will seal your ruin.
कहे हरिदास ते जीव विमुख भजे दूसरी करदारी
Says Haridas: the soul that turns away from Hari—another holds the reins.
There is no other arrangement. Whatever our work will be accomplished by our Ishta.
What is our work? Our work is to weep and do bhajan. And the Lord's work is to nourish our life. Our only work is to weep and do bhajan. For the Lord [throat-clearing]—weep and do their bhajan night and day.
He says: Is this not why you came—to long for the Lord, to weep for the Lord, for the Lord? Then why is there this in the middle? Why in the middle? Why this other refuge?
Here they are saying: without the Ishta there is no other. Only for this one is the longing. If all four ashrams are attained, that is not the longing. If the bhajan of Shri Ji happens, if it is attained—we are not saying let the bhajan of Shri Ji happen. Night and day, we have no concern to meet Shri Ji. Why? Because the principle says:
नाम वाणी जहां श्याम श्यामा तहां नाम वाणी सुनत श्याम श्यामा सुबस नाम वाणी निकट श्याम श्यामा प्रकट
Where the naam-vani is, Shyam and Shyama are there. Hearing the naam-vani, Shyam and Shyama come close. The naam-vani is near, Shyam and Shyama become manifest.
So they will certainly not leave us. We hold the naam-vani. They will not leave us. And if you have the power, show—leave us and show.
All are powerful—God is all-powerful. But God does not have the power to leave his own.
From the discourse of Shri Vitthalnatji, from Goswami, about Shrinatji—once it happened that Krishna Das ji offered jalebi as an offering. The Lord was enjoying jalebi from the market. Look at such devotion! Such an accomplished great person—Vitthal Das ji—saw the curtain lift. He was eating jalebi, but he had not offered jalebi as an offering. [throat-clearing] How are you enjoying it? They said: Krishna Das offered it. From market jalebi. But he said: We have renounced Krishna Das. He said: You are an acharya, you are a guru. You can renounce. We cannot renounce.
We do not have the capacity to renounce the surrendered one. God is weak in one place. God's weakness is ananyata. If you are anannya, you make God weak.
How are you? This question does not arise. The matter is to be exclusively devoted. Understand our point. We are not asking this question—how are you? We are asking this question—whose are you? Do not descend below your Ishta. We do not need to be bought. Our life will not be wasted. When even those deeply engaged in debauchery became exclusively devoted to their Ishta, they became great souls. The blessing is the exclusivity of the Ishta. We must hold to our Ishta's single-pointedness. Whatever shortcoming is in us, our Ishta will remove it. And if they do not remove it, we must accept it as it is.
कोटि विप्र बदला जाहु आए शरण तजो ने ता / जो नर होए चराचर द्रोही आवे सब शरण तक मोहरी / तज छल कपट मोह मध माना करो
Even if you are replaced by millions of Brahmins, do not abandon refuge. If a person becomes hostile to all mobile and immobile beings and comes seeking shelter, I embrace them. Abandon deceit, treachery, delusion and false pride.
This is the duty of the sant. A sant is made by them. We simply take steps on the path of the sant through their inspiration and by their strength we become saints. Sainthood comes to our life through God's grace. Only the Ishta sings the praise, and only the Ishta relishes the nectar. Sing the glory of your Ishta.
Celebrate their victory and joy, and fix your mind in the nectar of your Ishta. And the nectar of the Bhagavata is Gokul Nath Maharaj's divine play—countless, without discord. Our mind, our servant mind, simply hearing the flute song—and the gopis, abandoning everything, became absorbed in that nectar of the flute. In one way, faith binds the mind, bewitching all. Harivansh plays, the Harivansh players, the Harivansh flute—Hari played the flute and bewitched everyone.
इष्ट बिना काू की जो राखे मन आसना
Without the Ishta, if anyone keeps their mind in hope...
This is what we want to explain in this line. Without the Ishta, if anyone keeps their mind in hope—without the Ishta, we rely on Shri Ji's strength. We move by the strength of someone. Till now, no one has shown us hands held before anyone wealthy like that. The confidence in the Ishta, the confidence in Shri Swamini Ji—all of this has moved through that. Not through the confidence in any person. And whoever acts with deceit, with treachery, will face the consequences. Write it down on paper. Whoever you are, you or I or anyone—deceit, treachery, flaws do not please the Ishta. If we abandon the refuge of the Ishta, who can save us? Maya will throw us away. Do not abandon the refuge of the Ishta, do not abandon the refuge of the Ishta—understand this point very well. If a flower comes to us without asking, we will offer it to Thakur Ji saying, "Victory to you!" If tomorrow our food is not arranged, we will beat the cymbals and sing "Radha Radha" and drink charanamrit and remain. But we will not tell anyone, "Today we went hungry."
If you want to walk the path of the Bhagavata, then settle this matter firmly in your heart. If we do not heed the words of great souls and gurus, then the consequence is—
इष्ट बिना काू की जो राखे मन आसना
Without the Ishta, if anyone keeps their mind in hope...
This person will become our tool. We put a dupatta on them. We were asked, "Why do you put a dupatta on great officers?" That one is a judge. If he has faith, if he listens to our words, he will forgive thousands of innocent people. What is the point? If his intellect is corrupted, he will hang thousands of innocent people. He is a lawyer. If his intellect is pure, by practicing true law he will even save the poor.
When we put a dupatta on any officer, any official, we do so while honoring their position, saying to them: hold your position with righteousness. Our purpose is different. We—are we wrong? Our principle is not wrong. The principle we spoke of is this: whether you have faith in us or not, have faith in our words. Only the Ishta gives honor. And the Ishta's strength is mighty. You do not yet have an understanding of the Ishta's power.
The eyebrows eternally dance, the lotus face, soft and sweet laughter, sweet speech—so incredibly charming, the beloved child, the wise one who captivates all the countless universes. By the mere shine of whose eyebrows, by a mere smile, all became subject.
That is our Ishta. Radhe Ishta, Radhe Ishta. Who is our Ishta? Radha—by the mere movement of whose eyebrows the master of all universes becomes subject. And how does she give honor? To a poor father, who does not have a morsel to eat, whose body is sick and he does not have money for medicine, when sick, there is no one to give even water. This is not something from long ago—it is from fifteen years back.
There is no need to ask. From here to Radha Vallabh Ji, Radha Vallabh Ji—no one used to call him Radhe Shyam. Only the Ishta gives honor. Now open your eyes and see. Only the Ishta gives honor. When no one used to call that person "Radhe Shyam," just as when Emperor Akbar removed his crown and set it down, Tulsidas Ji's tears came. Later the attendants asked, "The emperor has come." At that time when Tulsi was not the world's, no one gave crumbs. Today Tulsi is the world's, so the emperor removes his crown and sets it down. Only the Ishta gives honor. The Ishta's strength is mighty. We roar, so by the Ishta's strength—whatever strength is in us is the Ishta's strength.
All of this that we have is from the Ishta. It is not from us. It is a wonder of our Shri Ji. It is the wonder of the Radha name. No one knows Premanand. No one regards Premanand. The Radha name is Shri Ji's grace and we are Shri Ji's—that is why this is so. This body is Shri Ji's. This body is being honored because it is Shri Ji's. Shri Ji's strength is mighty. Shri Ji gives honor. And in one pad, Nanddas Ji has written: "O friend, there is no one who gives honor like you. No one. Like Shri Ji. Tell me, only the Ishta gives honor. The Ishta's strength is mighty. And without the Ishta, however much the mind may desire..."
अभी मन में देखो यदि आप किसी से ₹1 लाख लेते हैं तो उसके प्रति आदर बुद्धि होती है कि नहीं महत्व बुद्धि होती है कि नहीं
Consider this in your mind: if you take one hundred thousand rupees from someone, do you not have respect for them? Do you not regard them as important? And we have not kept in our life the company of wealthy men. In private, someone once asked: why do you seek enmity with the wealthy?
A question was asked in a private gathering. Our acharya, the great saints, say [throat clearing sound] - those who are bhakts of all four ages. We bow to their feet. We have friendship with them. Arrogance - fear arises, O beloved Hari, with such our dealings are. Arrogance - the saints do not honor the arrogant. Those who are honored in the world are not honored in the court of saints. Those who are disrespected in the world are honored in the court of saints. The humble are dear, the Vedas proclaim, O compassionate Lord - one who loves humility comes bowed, with tears in their eyes, fully prostrated, and now there is nothing more.
This is the meaning of the scriptural principle - do not grow weak on this. We are weak, but do not grow weak on this. Do not grow weak on the principle. Apart from the Ishtadev, whatever the mind dwells upon - if in your mind you have attachment to anyone, if you have taken something from someone, if you have desired anything with longing, then you will have thoughts of that, meditation on that, attachment to that, and that will become the cause of your downfall. The divine abode of the rasa-form Ishtadev, steadfast residence in that - this is the rasa-form of our Vrindavan's Beloved and Beloved Lord. The Beloved's rasa-form abode.
This is the rasa-form abode. They say dwell here steadfastly. The worshipper of Shri Ji should dwell uninterrupted. Do not leave Vrindavan. Even if the body should break into pieces - do not leave Vrindavan. If you leave it, that is a great mistake. We will not leave Vrindavan. This is called right wisdom, steadfast worship. This is called right wisdom. This is called steadfast worship. Hariram Vyasji has said in a pad: Whose worship, that is their longing, and sing only the name, form, leela and qualities of that. The longing and hope in one's Ishtadev - whose worship, that is their dwelling. Friend, I have not understood until now - you are surrendered to whom? If a chief minister shakes your hand somewhere and you sit, you will not forget that for your whole life. And God has given you surrender, Shri Ji has given you surrender, and you forgot and started considering others as great.
Another will nourish you? They are saying - you do not have faith in yogakshema. This is the biggest thing. The lack of faith in God is the cause of our downfall. Whether you become a saint, or an abbot, or anything - if refuge in God is not steady, then they say the dressed ones pain the Lord's heart. Calling yourself God's servant while expecting to be a lowly man's servant - so tell me, where remained the faith? Where did faith remain? So this is the supreme dharma of non-duality - just Vrindavan, do not go elsewhere. The non-dual dharma is our Vrindavan worship.
Now our own dharma says there, Vrindavan remains always, so that is where you too must remain. Do not leave Vrindavan. Leaving it is a great mistake. They say that poor one is not a true bhakt who says one thing and does another, says one thing and does another. Here the wayward ones - Hariram Vyasji has pointed them out - those who say one thing and do another, speaking of others' matters, saying something else while asking something else, speaking of others' matters but acting differently. Why not stay absorbed in non-dual dharma? Stay in your non-dual dharma. Looking at the face of such ones brings severe suffering. One should not associate with such. They say looking at the face of such ones brings severe suffering. Hariram Vyasji is saying - the Vyasji is mocking, creating fear, unfulfilled hopes will bring great suffering. The fear, the hopes that remain with you from others, from material things.
That is why Shri Harivansh Mahaprabhu remembered Pingala, in the Chaturassi as in the rasa scripture. Because she said: hope is the greatest sorrow, hopelessness is the greatest joy. Hope is the greatest sorrow. Hopelessness is the greatest joy. So how can a servant have unfulfilled hope? How can you be called a servant? If you have hope from others, how can you be the servant of the Beloved? [throat clearing sound] of the Beloved? How can you be in the shelter of the Beloved? We should have faith in our Ishtadev, sustenance from the Ishtadev. They are saying in the spirit of yogakshema - our only duty is non-dual meditation. What kind of happiness do we need? But just as we are overcome by our own mind, overcome by our own senses, overcome by our son, overcome by our own people - just as our own mind said something and we did that, the senses said something and we did that, the disciple said something and we did that - just this overcoming with mind and senses and whatever relationships exist, let them all flow according to the will of the Ishtadev.
Favorable and unfavorable, both surrendered to Shri Krishna.
If unfavorable things are abandoned, this is the prayer to all - have faith in the Ishtadev, friend. The Ishtadev is the Lord of infinite universes. Shri Ji is the Mistress of the Lord of infinite universes. From whom should we have hope? From whom should we have hope? Hope only in Ram Ji. Leave distant hopes. Connection only with Ram Ji. Break other connections. Come now, if you cannot give up the householder life, then at least you should be detached. You all should stake everything. That is why this may be obtained. [throat clearing sound] Absolutely not. This money will not go with you, nor will the house go with you, nor will the daughter go with you, nor will the son go with you, nor will the wife go with you. When the swan flew, it flew alone. In the world, a gathering of millions was assembled.
When the swan flew away, our words might sound a bit harsh. But accept this. We have said a thousand times - do not believe us. Believe our words. If you accept our words, you will be blessed. God has given everything. He has given everything. What is missing? Just non-duality is missing. This is the point - if there is no non-duality, tomorrow you will die of hunger. See, such a circle of maya will envelop that you will be troubled. That is non-duality - if you sit alone, you will not die of hunger. High words do not fill anyone's belly. Trust in Ram will never go hungry. Have faith in God, have faith in the Ishtadev. So today's satsang - understand our words. Live in faith in the Ishtadev. Have hope in the Ishtadev. Meditate on the Ishtadev. Rest in faith in the Ishtadev. All will be well. Everything will be well. Your conduct will become right.
Your intellect will become right. Your life will become right. And people turn to things other than Ishta for refuge. Then from Haridasa: those souls who turned away, who made different arrangements - those were the same yesterday too.
Those seekers who remain engaged in sadhana... then (one of them), weeping, said: we are following your orders. But it seems to us that we are making some error somewhere. What are we doing wrong? When we go far from your presence, it feels to us that we are not right. We only want this - that you smile. May you remain content.
To me, there is no one else. Shri Ji, no one. God, no one. I know no one, nor do I wish to know anyone. You smile. You be assured - we are in you - be without worry. What you are engaged in for sadhana, that is our order. You remain engaged. Just Ishta and Guru - from this alone will the boat cross over, from this alone there will be auspiciousness.
We came as Baba Ji to build this. The construction here - the heart-temple - becoming pure, let it manifest the divine. Therefore, Baba, the whole life has been spent in this work. What was to be done - this construction - is not here and will not remain. Once there were palaces. Today there are ruins. Where once there were celebrations of victory, now pigeons perch. This is God's city of maya.
Therefore, dwell in the strength of Ishta. Dedicate every breath to Ishta. Ishta, let our words not be taken with attachment and aversion. Let our words be understood from the principle. When we speak in principle, it may seem to you that somewhere we take a side - yes, somewhere there is partiality. But this is public teaching and is for everyone. It is for all seekers. It is for seekers of all samprayas. This is not for any individual alone. Because the words of acharyas, gurus, and great souls are public. They are not for just one person. Therefore, remain in the trust of Ishta. Hold hope in Ishta. Meditate on Ishta. Glory to Shri Radha.
